| In order to fully respect Jack Nicklaus & Jack Nicklaus II's design, OGC (Overseas Golf Construction) is carrying out its construction, managed by Mr. Russell Curtis who has worked with Nicklaus Design on many other golf courses succesfully achieving high quality standards.
The golf course construction implied the movement of 550.000 cubic meters of soil and the settlement of an underway pipe drainage system consisting of more than 12.000 meters of pipes and 400 engrossing water chambers strategically located in the lowest areas of each hole.
The installation of the irrigation system was carried out by ProField S.A., exclusive distributor for The Toro Co. in Argentina, based on the prestigious golf irrigation consultants Bryan, Taylor and Gordon's project.
The state of the art pumping station, supplied by Flowtronex PSI from USA, has a pumping capacity of 325.000 cubic meters per hour. By early November 2002 a technician from this company came down to Chapelco in order to certify its installation and configure its programming. The irrigation system consists of 30.000 lineal meters of pipes, 963 sprinkler heads and a Toro Site Pro central control system including last generation field decoders. On January 2003 the system was programmed and succesfully started up.
The turf seeds used in the mixtures were supplied by ProField S.A., exclusive distributor for Jacklin Seed Co., following the grassing specifications provided by Nicklaus Design's agronomists.
The grow-in process is supervised by ProField S.A. Holes 1 to 9, 18 and driving range are completely sown. The remaining holes will be sown during next spring and the opening of the first 9 holes is scheduled April 2004. |
